In 2018 World Walleye Association (WWA) has made a few changes to enhance and improve the series.
The annual registration fee for each angler has increased to accommodate an annual membership with The Walleye Federation (TWF). The total registration fee is now $75 ($35 for WWA and $40 for TWF). If you have already paid for an annual TWF membership through another series, simply provide your TWF number and you are only obligated to pay the $35 WWA fee.
This new partnership with TWF provides several benefits to the WWA, which include, Liability Insurance for each event, allocated secured spots for WWA members into the Cabela’s NTC (National Team Championship), and optional “sidepots” that will provide additional paid entry opportunities into the NTC. The TWF will promote all WWA events and the added attraction of an event with a NTC berth will help grow the series. Your annual registration with the WWA also includes a annual subscription to Midwest Outdoors Magazine.
In 2018, the WWA is strongly encouraging anglers to register ONLINE. As such, the WWA will be enforcing the existing rules requiring registration 5 days prior to each event and enforcing the $40 late registration penalty. The team cost per event remains at $180.
Each team that signs up and prepays for at least 4 tournaments will lock in their take off position. Take off position priority will be based first by the number of tournaments prepaid, then by date payment is received, for the entire season. The previous season’s TOTY will always be the in the first position.
